You know, every time I look at this picture, I think, "Wow. So they found one facial expression that made them think Tom actually did a good acting job, and they're throwing it around like crazy so we'll all think he's gotten better." Too bad he's still Tom Cruise as Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai.

When I think of Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise, I think of Ben Stiller's dead-on impersonation of him. He didn't have any of those characteristics in this movie. This was a departure for him. Not oscar quality, but definitely different.
