We're Registering at Robinson's-May tomorrow.
I'm working on Invitations.
We're buying reception supplies.
I'm going to order my dress.

HAPPY EASTER.
You better register someplace cheaper too if you expect to get lots of useful stuff! Robinsons May is good if you want to stock up on China and comforters, but you're gonna need more practical stuff that you can find at Target like:
vacuum cleaners, small electric appliances, towels (everyone gets lots of towels), housewares, domestics, home improvement thingies, and entertainment. If you're gonna register a camera or stero or something, you may have to ask someone to help you. The bar codes aren't always easy to find.
Registering is one of the most fun things you can do for wedding preperation. Just walk into the store, ask for one of their "laser" thingies, and walk around zapping stuff you want. "I want THIS...and THIS....and THIS...a couple of THOSE..." etc. Kind of like Michael Jackson.
Target has improved their registration process since we got married too so you'll be less likely to get duplicate gifts. We ended up with so many duplicates that when we went to exchange them, we had enough left over for a vacuum, a vcr, and a little hibachi barbeque grill (and this was back when vcrs were more expensive. man i feel old).
Posted by: Roland on April 18, 2003 01:02 PMDon't worry. We're planning on doing Target this week. We can always modify our Robinsons-May stuff to not include things we can get at Target. Actually, we kept saying, "We're just going to do this at Target anyway!" We're also going to register at Pottery Barn.
P.S. I think it's funny that Todd says people will be willing to DRIVE to buy US things at Crate & Barrel (the nearest one is in Santa Ana or Pasadena, I think). That's just nuts. We're not registering there.
do NOT register at Crate & Barrel. It is sooo expensive! i got a $200 gift certificate from my coworkers for Crate & Barrel when i left the DA's office. The only stuff in there is either WAY over $200 or stupid silly stuff like plates and stuff that are in stupid styles anyway and you can get for cheaper at target because they will break either way.
so rol & i ended up with a $200 picture from Crate & Barrel. too bad they didn't give us a $200 certificate for Target or Walmart or something -- now THAT would have gone a long ways!
Posted by: becky on April 21, 2003 03:13 PMYeah Crate & Barrel sucks. We have one in Scottsdale where all the rock stars live. I guess it's a good place to shop if you're decorating one of your "cribs", but the average person has no use for it.
Like Becky said, the only thing we could find for $200 was this big black and white photo of a swamp that we hung in our living room. Everything else was like exotic ridiculously expensive furniture.
