Lost Mountain Weekend

Even though I had an extremely packed weekend, somehow I'm not all that tired. I guess I got enough relaxation in between all the driving and socializing.

Friday night, Ric and I drove up to Lake Arrowhead. We stayed in our first bed and breakfast, which was an interesting experience. When we got there, the lady in charge got us a couple glasses of wine and showed us the inn and what rooms she could, as well as introduced us to the owner. It was a nice gesture, but we weren't all that interested. Once we were settled in our room, we went out to see what was open around town, which was nothing, so we got some drinks and hung out in the courtyard of our inn until late at night. Surprisingly, we did get wifi, and we were able to watch some shows on Hulu together too.

Saturday we checked out and got breakfast at the Belgian waffle place on the lake. We were lucky enough to get seated at a window overlooking the lake. It was a cold morning, and I ended up having to buy a hoodie just to survive the day. We weren't expecting that at all. We headed down the mountain to Crestline and went to Lake Gregory for the afternoon. We walked around the lake and enjoyed the scenery, then drove over to Yo's to hang out with him for a while. We enjoyed our International Meat Day meal together and hung out a while before heading back down the mountain and home.

Sunday we went to church in the morning, met up with Judi for lunch at Ruby's, and then I picked up my sister to head to Irvine to see Exit through the Gift Shop. I made a quick stop to pick up some frozen grated potatoes at the store, then sped to Ric's parents house for our Lost party. Ryan and Amy and my sister came over. Amy and I made a scrapbook for a girl at work who is moving away, we all ate pizza, and we had lots of fun taking in the final show together. As soon as I got home, I whipped together a potato casserole for the next morning at work.

I can't believe I packed all of that into a little over two days. This week at work, we had the farewell breakfast for A, today we started signing up for teams to root for during World Cup, and tomorrow we're having an ice cream bar in appreciation for our student workers. It's a busy life, but a fun one! And we're headed out of town again this weekend, so I've got to get to some organizing and laundry at home or I'm going to fall way behind.

Have a good week, everyone!
