Tired Weekend
Get it? TIRED weekend, because it's all about the tire that I ran over on the way to Arizona. Ric and I set out Friday evening to visit his brother's family, and we were just 30 miles shy of our destination when I ran over a tire, or tread, on the road. It was an easy traffic night, so there were hardly any other cars around, which meant that it was really dark, and we just didn't see it coming until we were running over it. The AC stopped instantly, so we knew something was wrong, and thankfully there was a rest stop very close by, so we stopped there. The front bumper was missing and we were losing a couple of kinds of fluids, and it looked like the radiator was bashed in. Insurance is great (so far) and they covered our tow, and the car got picked up and driven in to the Mini dealer in Phoenix. Ric's brother picked us up and we went home with him, and on Saturday we picked up my new, temporary wheels, a Nissan pickup. And apparently, it's a super-temporary set of wheels, because they gave me a car with an expired temporary license and I have to go switch it out today. Yay.
We spent all of Saturday and Sunday just hanging out with the family. We napped a lot, I finally finished reading The Road, went to church together, played in the yard, played Mario Kart.. you know, the usual. Ric and I took off Sunday evening and got home in time to get ready for this morning and went to bed. So, it was a relaxing weekend, but a tiring one.
Up this week, I have a lot of errands to do, from switching out rental cars to shopping. On Wednesday we have a movie night with the Agadonis and we will possibly have another trip out to Arizona for the weekend, if the Mini is ready. Hutchinses, keep your Saturday night tentatively scheduled with us, if you can, just in case. :)
As for updates, there aren't many. I'm going through a period of irritation with my health in all parts of my body. And my back and hip only find relief when I don't exercise, which can't possibly be good for me. So if anyone feels like praying, please pray for a positive change. So often, I think of how awesome it would be if God miraculously healed all of my health issues, and then I could go out proclaiming his greatness for the miracles he performs. It may not be realistic, but it's always possible. Think how amazing that would be! Of course, I already take for granted the good health that I do have, but it can be depressing to see healthy people all around me and to dream of being able to physically be able to achieve anything I wanted to work towards achieving.
