Super Furry Animals at the HOB Anaheim 11/30/5

This show was soooo worth it! I love that I can see quality shows in Anaheim now, instead of having to drive to Hollywood, deal with expensive parking, and try and stay sane in the middle of really rude crowds. Another bonus is that I don't have to sell my soul to Ticketmaster for Anaheim shows because I can just drop by the box office and save myself about a third of the ticket price. They also have some good deals every once in a while, like 2 for Tuesday deals. We got two tickets for $15 to this show!
I havent seen the Super Furry Animals since 2002 when they toured with Rings Around the World, so I forgot what a great show they put on. This time around they personalized an video introduction/conclusion to their show that showed them getting picked up for the show in a golf cart and driving to Downtown Disney, as well as getting packed up in a truck and a Snatch-esque roll call of the band, the roadies, and a shout out to Anaheim. The band came out in jumpsuits with some sort of fiber-optic lighting on them, which looked sort of like glowing radioactive green. With a blacklight, the effect looked very cool.
The band played most of their new album and several old hits. The highlights for me were Lazer Beam, Juxtaposed with U, and the cool mixing at the end. While I don't agree with all their views, I like how they seem to make themselves superheroes (putting on helmets, etc.) while singing about all governments being liars and murderers.
All in all, a lot of fun. If they were ever DJing at a club, I would be there for sure, because this show really made me want to get out and dance.
