Weekend = Not So Great

January 23rd, 2005

Well, I will start the weekend on Thursday night. My basketball team lost. This wasn't so bad, because they were really at a higher level than us, so they should have won, and won easily, which of course they did. But that wasn't so bad. They were really nice guys, and I enjoyed playing against them. The bad part was that I ended up shooting 0 for 4. I only had four shots, and I didn't do anything with them, that equals frustration.

The next night we played Manhattan Christian College, a team in our conference. This is one of the games that I had really hoped to play well in. This did not occur, and my team lost...again. I shout 2 for 10 in the loss and didn't make anything except free throws until late in in second half. Thus that is more frustration. So I just wonder why I can't finish. Anyways I did't have too much time to think about it because we had three games in three days. On saturday we played Barclay. I actually did alright. I shot 8 for 16 had 17 points and 7 rebounds, but unfortunately my team is still suffering from the problem that has plagued us all season. This problem is slow starts. We don't seem to start any game quickly. So we seem to start every game down 15 to 2 or something like that. Thus we always have to play catch up, and I don't think we are talented enough to do that.

Anyways, the good news is that I am going to start teaching in my sunday school class instead of just helping. So that is good. Of course I have three games this week, and I have to go to Iowa on Tuesday for one, and to Nebraska for the two on Friday and Saturday. Of course one of the games in Nebraska is in Norfolk, the home of Johnny Carson. Maybe they will have a special Johnny Carson day while we are there.
