Oregon State Beats Oregon

November 20th, 2004

I am kind of mad that I missed this game. I really wanted to watch it. Of course I was with my basketball team in Iowa, and we left just as the game started, then we were pulling into the parking lot as my brother called to tell me the game was over and Oregon State won. Anyways this is the first Civil War game that I haven't either watched or listened to in at least 10 years, so I am kind of mad about that.

You didn't miss much. Oregon State was dominate and from early in the second quarter the game was not in doubt. OSU's defense was typically strong with Clemens being constantly harassed and the secondary play strong. Swanny was awesome as he was continuously in the Duck backfield. When he picked off the shuttle pass he saw it coming and cut in front of the halfback to make the catch. Anderson had all the time in the world to pass. So he looked like an All American as he does when the line play is good. The only interception occurred when our receiver was leveled while the ball was still 30 yards away in the air. Five Oregon (state of) were the players of the game: Anderson, Hass, Swancutt, Newton, and Meuwsen. The Ducks had one player who had a good game: Whitehead. Ben was worried about the game because he said he had analyzed it and so no way we could lose. Grandpa also predicted an easy victory before it started. You missed a good one, but I am sure you were able to enjoy Bible College Hoops at their finest.
