I finished my month-long rotation in the Emergency Department at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis on Friday. I was impressed by HCMC's modern facilities, knowledgeable faculty and residents, and diverse mix of patients. While I miss certain aspects of Minneapolis (mainly Chipotle), I'm glad to be back in Iowa City, just in time for the start of Hawkeye Football.
I'm finishing up my applications for residency training today and tomorrow. At this point, it looks like I will apply to 30 emergency medicine programs which range geographically from Portland to Atlanta. I'm excited to finally click send and get this process underway, so I can get on to the bulk of my fourth year duties: having fun before the real responsibility of being a physician hits.
