This pretty much summarizes what's wrong with entertainment news media
From the Bad Astronomy blog:

Instead of asking people what they think is a greater risk in their opinion, FOX could responsibly inform people about what IS the greater risk (and not in a Could-the-H1N1-vaccine-kill-you?!-Story-at-11 kind of way, but an Actually-the-vaccine-prevents-you-from-developing-symptoms-and-there's-nothing-to-be-afraid-of kind of way). After all, this is objective, scientific truth we're talking about.

News should report what is important. Pandering to the lowest denominator from the news drives me bonkers.
I don't want a stupid, ignorant thread of discussion below ever news story.
I don't want the 6 o'clock news to lead with the five stories that got the most votes on their website (which one of our local stations does).
I want someone who knows more about the stories to tell me about them.
