A few years ago I bought a neti pot out of desperation.

My seasonal allergies were particularly bad that year, my sinuses were clogged, my eyes itched constantly, I was having trouble sleeping at night, and none of my over-the-counter drugs were working.

Erika told me that she saw a neti pot on TV that supposedly helps this sort of thing by literally flushing out the sinuses:

I know it looks freaky (it doesn't help that the woman in the video acts like an android). Erika said she heard it really works, though, and I was pretty desperate, so I ordered one.

It turned out to be a great investment.

What's so nice about the neti pot is that it provides instant relief. It doesn't totally cure congestion, but it opens up the sinus passages to relieve some of the pressure. There have been days that I had a horrible sinus headache all day long, and when I used the neti pot my headache instantly went away.

When I first though of buying a neti pot and looked up videos to see how it works, I found this one from the Toothpaste for Dinner guy:

I still sing that song to myself ever time I irrigate my sinuses.
