I am Kyle's self-indulgence

I brought a big box of CDs to school today, and to my surprise it was almost empty by the end of the day. I guess I should never underestimate the power of free stuff and teenagers' hunger for new music.

I think my students had no idea what most of the CDs were, but took them anyway. One kid came up to me with Björk's Post and said, "Is this good?"

I hesitated and said, "Well, I think it's good...I'm not sure you will, though. Do you even know what that is?"

He mentioned something about how the name on CD reminded him of a skateboarding company, and then said, "I'm going to see if my art teacher will play it in class next hour."

I have a feeling he's going to be a little disappointed.

But at least I unloaded a bunch of my CDs. I can only hope that they will eventually find their way to someone who will appreciate them.
