Time's 100 Best English-Language Novels

Filed under: Literature, NewsKyle Email @ 07:48:46 am

Two critics from Time Magazine have compiled a Complete List of the best English-language novels from the last century. I don't necessarily agree with all their choices, but there are some excellent books on the list. What's really exciting, though, is the inclusion of Watchmen, which regular readers of this blog already know is easily one of the greatest comic books, if not THE greatest comic book, of all time (in my humble opinion).

Coincidentally, I'm currently rereading it for about the 20th time, and going very slowly to make sure that I take in every subtle detail, repetition, allusion, and juxtaposition. I'm rediscovering what an amazingly dense work this is. Alan Moore is truly one of the best writers of our time, of any medium.

(hat tip Neil Gaiman's Journal)
