There's a space alien growing in Erika's stomach!

Space alien

Okay, it's actually a human embryo. But it kind of looks like a space alien, especially in this grainy ultrasound picture.

We've known since last week, but we waited until Erika had her first ultrasound before making a big announcement. We think she's about 8 weeks along, which would put the due date around May 29. As you can see from the picture, the little guy/gal is currently a robust 16.1 millimeters in length.

It's amazing to think there is a living thing growing inside Erika's body. I can't wait to watch it develop and then be born. I can already see why people talk so much about the miracle of birth.

LorriCongratulations! Our daughter was born on May 29 this year, and she's truly blessed our lives. Turned them upside down, too! We had our ultrasound right at this same time. Human development truly is a miracle, when we look at how much she's grown between last year and now. :-)

Love reading your blog. We ran across it while researching a move to K'ville ~ my husband is a big Gaiman & comics fan, and your blog was one of the only links that came up on a search of K'ville and comics. Now that we're here maybe we'll run into you someday.
