Me to a T
For her job, Erika often administers, scores, and interprets the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator. A professor showed her an online test with descriptions and asked Erika to judge whether it is consistent with the official test and results. Erika read to me my personality type description (INTP) to see if it is accurate. It is so true of me, I just had to post it here.
INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.
Is that me, or what? When our friend Maureen first read my blog, she said she was very surprised to see just how outspoken and opinionated I can be. I guess that doesn't come across to some people in everyday life.
Here's another:
Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists.
It's as if the author were writing specifically about me. Go ahead and take the personality test here, and feel free to share your own results.
