Things I Am Watching

This is the time of year you start hearing folks whining about how wish the fall TV season would start already. I firmly believe those days are over and those folks are missing out. When the networks take their holiday, cable networks step up and in many cases offer vastly superior product. Right now I'm watching some of my favorite shows. I'll actually be sad when it's fall because that means having to wait for these to start up again.

Weeds: We're two episodes in on this season and I am digging it. The banter between the family members is hilarious this season and Shane has been the show stealer show far. I'm curious to see how Kevin Nealon and Guillermo Diaz will come in to play this year.

Rubicon: Some people are saying this show is moving too slowly but that is exactly why I like it. I love the atmosphere of the show, that bizarre office building, the city. I am very intrigued by the storylines and very curious to see where this one goes.

Mad Men: Overall this is still probably my favorite show on TV. We're seeing a much more vulnerable side of Don Draper this season and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Entourage: I guess I understand the criticisms this show receives but I enjoy it. I was glad to see Billy come back as he is one of my favorite characters and I enjoy seeing Ari finally squirm.

True Blood: Oh True Blood. This show is so insane and that is why I love it so much. I don't even know where to start.

The big show I am looking forward to right now is Boardwalk Empire. It looks absolutely incredible. It also has Omar. On top of that we have the returns of Eastbound and Down and Bored to Death next month. I may never watch network TV again.

OK, that is a lie.

Do you watch Big Love? Probably the best show on tv right now period. It will be back in 2011, for season umm...4 I believe it will be,maybe 5?

I am watching Weeds, and True Blood as well. Weeds looks to be back on track, after seasons 4 & 5 kind of jumped the shark, IMO.

True Blood, well yeah it is true blood. Whacky show. Jessica the Vampire is awesome.

The Walking Dead starts on AMC on Halloween night...I can't f'n wait!

Dexter back in September!

I'm lame and don't get some of the pay channels, so all I've seen so far is Rubicon. It's got Sledge Hammer, so it can't possibly go wrong! Ric and I like it a lot.

BTW, if you own Mad Men, let me know. I can't handle waiting for individual discs via Netflix. We're doing that with Dexter right now and it's driving me mad!

HBO and Showtime is where it's at right now, seriously. I don't own Mad Men yet, no.

Big Love is definitely on my list since HBO can do no wrong in my book.

I went to the Walking Dead panel at Comic-con. Looks absolutely incredible. AMC is the hot network right now, that's for sure.

Have you checked out Persons Unknown? I'm really enjoying it, hoping they continue to produce it.

Another one I love right now is The Good Guys -- not sure if you'd care for it or not, it's a cheesy buddy cop series. I adore it.

Of the things you're watching, I've checked out none of them... I rely on over the air & Hulu for most of my television . . .

I enjoyed season one of True Blood, but just couldn't not get into season two. . .

I love Mad Men, True Blood, Weeds and Big Love (thought the last season of Weeds and Big Love did go a bit astray). I've also been watching Louie. Total black comedy.

Have you seen Children's Hospital? Funny or Die Presents had some good stuff, too.

I started watching Party Down about 2 weeks before they announced that it was cancelled. RIP.
