School's Out

I had my last day of class on Tuesday.  For my final web design project I did a redesign of brendomanproductions.com.  It uses tables and frames, which I’m not too proud about, but they were required.  I am looking forward to next semester where we will be using Dreamweaver CS4, which uses CSS extensively.  I did learn a bit of Flash and I’m pretty proud of that.  One of these days I’ll throw up the little movie I made.  Right now I’m just kind of relaxing and enjoying the down time.  I got Peggle for my iPhone and now I’m pretty addicted.  I am going to be kicking the job search in to high gear pretty soon, which will include getting a haircut and shaving.  Yeah, I’m really going to do it.

Wow, required to use tables and frames? This guy needs to update his curriculum. . .

When are they going to let you go crazy with hand typed, hand crafted xhtml/css righteousness? ;)

Well, it was a dreamweaver CS3 class for mostly art majors who wanted to make portfolio sites. Most of the class had a hard enough time as it was so CSS was kind of out of the question. I'll probably do a lot of hand coding when I take the CS4 class because I'm not to fond of the way it handles stylesheets.

Ah, yes, that being the target rather than dedicated developers makes all the difference . . .

We used dreamweaver in the office for a while -- it was painful, for me. But I've been hand coding since... probably before dreamweaver. Not CSS, obviously -- that didn't come til later ;)

Well, my site uses javascript, PHP, Flash, and CSS in addition to the tables and frames so I feel like I counterbalanced it a bit.

Right on.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't intend to critique the website. I was just curious about the imposed requirement.

What's css? Is that a new kind of font tag?
