Over the years I have posted a lot of stupid movie news on this site. I never cease to be amazed by the dumb things those folks in tinseltown come up with. This news that Screen Gems is remaking Frank Oz's Death at a Funeral is possibly one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Why is it so stupid? This movie came out only two years ago. It's not a foreign language movie. It was directed by an American director and had a mix of American and British actors. It was a really great movie. Now, I know that just like book adaptations the original will always be there but man, something just really bothers me about movie remakes like this. I don't know why. My brain tells me I should just treat them like cover songs, but for some reason I can't.
