Best Webcomics

20 of the Best Web Comics

So Mashable put out this list and now folks are talking about it. I need to come up with a good list, but I always second guess myself on everything. It's a pretty great list if you're looking for some webcomics to get into. I would just like to say though that Homestar Runner is not a webcomic. I see no comics on that site so I don't know why folks call it that. Also, I would add Achewood, Wondermark, and Dinosaur Comics.

Amazing Super Powers (www.amazingsuperpowers.com/) is one of my favorites that wasn't already mentioned. It tends to be a bit morbid but always funny. It too has an added joke when you hover your mouse over the comic, and the wormy mascot at the top changes themes every strip. This is the one that got me hooked: http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com/ComicArchive/092.htm

Sorry dude, but that has got to be one of the worst lists ever of webcomics. Sure, it shows whats in, but half of them are just flashes in the pan, one quarter of them are stick figures, and one of them isn't even a webcomic! sure, I'm a bit highbrow and picky when it comes to webcomics, but it angers me when people talk about what are essentially bad webcomics and make them out like they're exactly what the reviewers been looking for all their lives. Sorry for the rantage.

I agree with rem-dog. The trouble with this type of "best of" list is that they almost always list the most POPULAR webcomics. And - as we all know - that has nothing to do with quality.

If webcomics were judged according to the quality of their art and writing, the "best of" lists would look very different!

See that's the thing (and why these lists are so successful and generate lots of traffic and comments): everyone's tastes are different. Everyone has their favorite of everything and no two lists are alike. I don't give a crap what anyone else thinks, I love reading XKCD and Dinosaur comics. I know artistically they don't have a lot of merit, but I love reading them. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who disagree and have plenty of comics to suggest, many of which I probably won't enjoy. That's the wonder of life and the internet.

Nice Webcomic List...I love the concepts of some of these webcomics
my favourite concept is that of garfield minus garfield. It's such a contrast to when I was growing up reading Jim Davis's moody but lovable cat.
Now I imagine many comics minus some character it's fun. But you cannot minus Hobbes from Calvin. But you can minus Dennis from Mr. Wilson's Life. You can have crazy fun like this. I stubled upon another Nice concept about doodles...well drawn...brilliant concept. http://www.doodletalk.com
Website needs some work....Its a fairly new webcomic with 60 strips so far....but great slice of life and creative work

good list!
I prefer my web-comics chocked full of nonsensical, surrealist humor. I have to deal with complected, thought inducing things all day long, web-comics are my brain's escape.
I absolutely adore this one called Thinkin' Lincoln. Check it out!
