Flash Game of the Day: Pinch Hitter 2

Pinch Hitter 2 is my latest addiction, thanks to my pal Jesse from the VA Board. It plays almost exactly the same as the original Pinch Hitter but now there are multiple levels and achievements to unlock. I'm stuck on achievement 9, the first of the Major League achievements.

Damn, you got me hooked! However, I'm stuck on achievement 6 and can't seem to hit a homerun now to save my life. Good stuff.

Up to achievement 10. "Win a World Series". Goal being to score 8 runs so you have to hit singles etc. I haven't been able to score more than 5 runs before they start throwing everyone out on the bases. I also haven't hit a homerun on this achievement after playing it 20+ times.

I can hit a home run on achievement 9 every once in awhile but I haven't gotten anywhere near 20,000 points. How'd you do it?

I was able to hit homerun's on average 2 times every 10 pitches. I got lucky though and managed to double a homerun and got 8000 points. I had I think 4 other homeruns in that at bat and just got over 20,000 by getting a homerun on the last at bat. (The little fuck outfielder caught the last pitch for -1000 and luckily i had enough to cover.)

Achievement 10 is still a bitch.

I've been playing this game for a week now, and I can not for the life of me get past achievement 6. It's ridiculous. I get to ball 4 at best, and i always either strike or get called out.

Nick, you have to get under the ball as much as possible. I'm still having serious trouble on achievement 9, but I'm getting closer. Here's some simple batting tips.

We're currently #2 on Google for Pinch Hitter 2 tips!

I was going to say the same thing as Brendo. The only other advice I would add is to get near the middle/end of the bat. I was going for the heart of the bat for a while in the Little League mode and didn't hit a HR for a while. End of the bat, end of the bat.

BTW, thanks Brendan. Because of you I've now played this game WAYYYYYY too much. Am I still the champ with Achievement 10? (Which sucks ass and I swear I will now be here for at least a week.)

yo i just beat that shit. on mission ten crowd the plate as much as you can and hit a weiner-dink like two feet and you get a man on first, then step back and wail on it off the end of the bat.

just beat the game too! i decided to play it for 10 min before i left this morning and beat achievement 10! got a fast out then moved across 3 guys one at bat at a time on a couple plays that they usually throw me out at home on. Then managed to get a grand slam to put me over the top at 9 runs!

since eric didn't spoil achievement 11 i won't either unless someone really wants to hear it.

i'll have to find a new game to get addicted to now.

for 2 and 6 crowed and put the bat as far up as possible
you will likely get a hit every time but on the down side very low points some times none

Like so many others i am also stuck on task nine. I usually hit the ball off the end of the bat and get the bat on the bottom half of the ball, also swinging as late as possible, and as a result can fairly consistently hit the wall in right field, and have had some homers from it too, although i can't do that with anything resembling consistency. I have also had problems with Superman, as their fielders can sit on the baseline and catch the hard liners to right fairly often, which means i usually finish with about 5k-9k as a score...but i suspect i will beat it soon as a few of those being caught will get past eventually and at this point i think it's random where the ball ends up LOL. Using that hitting technique a typical 10 balls breaks down like this...2-3 balls hit the right field wall in the air, 2-3 are caught by superman, one dribbling liner up the middle and the other three on a good round are either swings and misses (because i usually try to swing as late as possible), or else i foul them off (a good sign if the game is like real life as fouls are often almost homers). I know it will happen evenutally, although i am starting to think it's all about which way your batter is farting in the batter's box as it is about where the bat hits the ball.

I've discovered the home run secret. I played for a couple hours and on the World Series challenge I hit seven homeruns easily. Adam had it right, get as far back as you can and hit it off the end of the bat going opposite field with it. Keep practicing you'll eventually get the feel for it. The balls fly over the right field wall.

Finally Beat It, Here's A Quick Trivia Question, If You Get A Home Run Every Time On The Eleventh Level, What's The Highest Your Score Can Be?
08/22/07 @ 21:41
Comment from: Donald [Visitor] Email
If you hit homeruns everytime, the score is limitless, you get an extra ball everytime on the last ball, which was changed after the original game's release.

My homeruns all go over the middle of the wall, more interesting to mix it up and see where you can knock the piss out of that ball.

PS The World Series is too too easy.

Comment from: Dan [Visitor]
This is the most absurd turd of a game ever. It's fun and addicting for about ten minutes, then it becomes impossible to hit homeruns or get enough points to move on to the next level.

The outfielders make plays that would put Torii Hunter to shame, and even if you have the bat in the same position with the same timing on your swing with the same pitch, you are never guaranteed to hit the ball. Too many times, you can make the exact same swing and get a nice wiff of air going by your bat.

The least they could have done is put some sort of consistency in their game. Boring after 15 minutes. Stopped playing and haven't gone back after 30.

Been hooked on this game since it came out on addictinggames.com. NOW,though, I'm hooked on trying to get the Yankees off the top of the leaderboard!! I used to play as a MN Twin, but now just join whatever team is in second behind the Yanks just to try and help beat the Yanks. PASS THE WORD...HELP THE REST OF THE WORLD DEFEAT THE YANKS...JOIN THE SECOND PLACE TEAM (usually Boston)!!!

level 9 is indeed a challenge - I get the best result holding the tip of the bat in the center of the square - still takes quite fast movement to get it in place in time, but it sure goes better than the way I started, which was with the tip of the bat at the edge of the square... ya just can't make a homerun with the middle of the bat :P

i beat this game in about an hour. i spent half of my time on level 9. that was hard but i found out the home run sceret to hit the ball on the end and to be low on the ball. people are having trouble on level 10 but i found it quite simple and it only took me like 3 trys. the secret is to not focus on home runs until you have 2 or 3 men on base the go for the homer. the easy way is that if there are bo fielders in the middle just hit a ground ball. hit a ground ball by keeping the bat above the ball. to hit it to left field swing early. it kinda sucks how fuking high the fielders can jump. its like 6 derek jeters.

I beat 9 for the 1st time in a few days. Here is how I did it. I always hit the ball with my bat horizontal (straight). I also hit the ball close to the end of the bat.

I counted out where I should hit the ball. I came up with a 4 count. The picture takes the ball and puts it in his glove, I start the 4 count and swing on 4 while lining up the end of the bat to the ball.

There should be 3 thick green bars and 3 light colored bars in the grass. The 4 count should place the balls shadow into the 1st light colored bar closest to you. It should just past the 2nd dark green bar that is away from you and the pitcher. When I did this method the first time, I beat 9.

Hey my friend is addicted to this game and he needs to seek help. For some reason he is dead set on getting one million points on the free play. He has given up on all other aspects of life. Now he insists on eating, sleeping and playing pinch hitter. He hasn't left the room or went to class in 3 weeks, I think he may die if he doesn't get help asap. What can I do to help him?

I just won the World Series! You have to hit it where the guys aren't... the tip on crowding the plate helped, swing early to hit into left when they fielders are in center and right, off the end of the bat when the fielders are in the corners, and if you see the fielders in left and center fields, line your guy up so that just the tip of his bat is in the strike zone and swing away! Good luck!

just beat it. Level nine was tough. Seriously though what some other people said was very useful. In the major league stay very far back from the plate in order to hit homers. Then swing late and you can hit them into right field. Also homers are good for the world series. To be honest you don't really need to get anyone on base, cuz they'll just throw them out. (I've watched baseball for years and have never until this point seen a center fielder throwout a guy at first! wtf?)

sorry wildman, we don't have someone checking this page every 30 seconds to answer any and all questions about pinch hitter, a game I have nothing to do with.

How the fuck did we get to be number 1 for pinch hitter passwords on google? I don't see any passwords.

Here's what I could find after doing a real Google search and not just clicking on the first link that pops up and leaving a stupid comment on said page:

37HY44LM - gets you to 9th level

That's the only code I could find. I swear. Find another game to play if you're having that much trouble. There's plenty of other good stuff out there. I've moved on, so can you.

I used to play this game a lot. My best time for getting thru all achievements is 6 min 35 sec.

For the no outs/no strikes achievements, crowd the plate and hit little softies. Sometimes you can score as low as 0 (zero) on a safely hit ball.

For me its easier to hit homers to right field. Swing a little late and aim for the top of the bat.

The 8 runs is probably the easiest. You can usually tell where both outfielders are. Dont hit their direction. hit straight away, pull it or slap it to right. Even a slow grounder in the direction of a fielder is an out. If you are not sure where a fielder is, sometimes just let a pitch go by you. The fielders may reset.

Stuck on level9 for 2 days. Closest I came to beat it was something like 19500. I hit 6 homeruns and still wasn't enough. I also scored 19000 without hitting a homer - spraying the ball all over the field a la Ichiro and hitting 2X points every time to get 2000+.

I find the easiest to hit homers to center field. End of the bat, bottom of the ball, like the many others said.
However, hitting it to the right field didn't work for me.

Okay so I took all of what EVERYONE said and beat level 9 on the first try with this method. First put your bat completely horizontal, then slightly drop the tip. Now keep that tip hear the middle of that circle and when the ball hits right above that tip then swing. I hit 28,000 points by 7 outs. Anyways, I spent like 2 hours on that damn level until beating it. The game is a joke after that level.
