Leech

I found an open WiFi connection at our apartment, so I'm sitting on our couch in the dark sending this. Unfortunately I only have 56 minutes of battery time. Maybe I can recharge at a Starbucks or something. At least with no power I have been going to bed earlier.

Hehe, that is funny.

My philosophy for using unsecured wifi is that if someone leaves it open they are giving tacit consent to other people piggy-backing the connection.

I am really happy for you, that things are falling into place dispite the hitches.

Typical socialist thinking. That’s like saying if you found a wallet
on the sidewalk or someone’s car door was unlocked that you’re
entitled to their belongings.

“tacit consent"? Ha.

2 words: Liberal freeloaders.

Let me quote the eloquent Bill O’Reilly… “Shut up.”

Pay for your own web connection you cheapo.

No, typical socialist thinking would be that the government should pool together the people’s resources and provide free wifi.

Tacit consent? Damn straight, I am not taking the whole of a product from someone, only using the spare resources that a person leaves open and can ealisy close up. That is where your analogy is weak.

A better one would be to compare the connection to a stream that is being used at, say at 5% and building in there that the gate to the stream was left open.

Nice try at a razz though, I realize you have been trying at it for a week or so now.

What part of “Thou shalt not steal.” do you not understand?

You assume it’s ok, you assume that they’re ok with it. It’s stealing and God says it’s wrong.

You’re killing Jesus all over again.

Is that all you can do? ctrl c and ctrl v?

It’s taking somebody else’s bandwidth without permission therefore it’s stealing. There are so many variables to take into consideration such as one’s computer saviness. Most folks who know better more than likely do secure their connection.

Your argument, my liberal friend, is baseed on implication. Implication does not mean given permission. Assuming “tacit consent” is where you go wrong.

The title of this post is appropriately named “leech.” Think about it and be consistent in your thinking.

Stealing implies personal property. Can you give any defense to the idea of personal property? I actually can’t, to tell you the truth. While I would maintain that without personal property, the framework of Western society falls apart, I cannot justify the obtaining of the initial property and as a result, cannot justify the passing of it along.

Damn you Peter Singer! Damn you!
