Last night I was watching a special on the drug industry. The main thing that really riled me was the fact that much of the research that makes this drugs happen is federally funded. That means you and I, the taxpayers, are paying for these drugs to be made. So what? Here's what. Drug companies are the most profitable companies in the world right now. They are making billions of dollars. Yet they still charge an arm and a leg for medicine, which we as taxpayers help make. We're getting screwed at both ends. It just doesn't make sense to me. The government should not be responible for programs such as this.
