Rachel Corrie
Posted by Dave
Categories: Political Ravings, Foreign Affairs, Non-violence Today is the third anniversary of the murder of Rachel Corrie in Palestine [hat tip Gringo]. I have the greatest respect for those activists who are willing to put their lives on the line for what they believe. Rachel Corrie did exaclty that. But in reality the more important thing is that the Israeli government murdered a peace activist, and there were no repercussions. And few people really cared. As Gringo said:

I think we all learned a valuable lesson. When you're helping terrorists and a big loud bulldozer comes your way.....MOVE!

the nerve of some folks.... crikey. maybe they should shut up, then study it.
"another perspective"... crikey. your blood runs filthy republican. shame on you. if there's a hell, you're going. shame on you.

Palestinians = terrorists? You're an f'ing moron. You don't know the beginning of it, nor why and even *if* I tried to explain it to you.. you wouldn't *want* to understand because you've already made up your god damned mind.
Goochy goo? "Oh, this is another perspective... i'm not saying that's what i believe"... oh bologna. STFU. jesus. the shit you guys spew is absolutely hilarious... do you realize how out of touch you really are? How inept it really shows you are? jesus christ. i can't believe what i just read. one's a freaking morone if they hold to that.
Comment from: gringo [Visitor] 03/17/06 @ 01:15
i spelled moron wrong. yes, i know this.
and that was a harsh response... oh well. at least i can sleep at night knowing that i'm informed of the issues.

Gringo, it wasn't harsh. Anyone who thinks that what Rachel did was futile or immoral is a spineless idiot. (I save my expletives for when I speak...)
Martin Luther King Jr said 'A man who is not prepared to die for something is not fit to live.' Rachel more than proved her worth.
Gringo, the more you respond to things like the less seriously I have to take you.
Talk about the case rather than simply name-call. People using tunnels to smuggle terrorist equipment = terrorists. I did not say Palestinians = Terrorists. Help me take you seriously. "Oh, this is another perspective... i'm not saying that's what i believe"... oh bologna. STFU. I'm being an honest as I can about things. I don't know a whole lot about everything, but from what I read, this is a valid perspective.

Let's see. We have Israel, the country that has been most affected by terrorism (and with a relatively small population which makes each attack worse). These guys don'[t mess around when it comes to terrorism and we should all learn lessons about security from them.
So they're defending themselves from terrorism and some naive little girl who doesn't even have the sense to move out of the way of a big loud bulldozer that isn't exactly sneaking up on her, let alone the geopolitical situation at hand, got Darwined. Usually we mourn when people die. Sometimes we laugh when they're a Darwin Award candidate. In this case, I find it hard to do either because of the seriousness of the stuff she was messing with. People who interfere with defending innocent people against terrorism aren't going to find much sympathy from me. some naive little girlYou are clueless. Do you know anything about this "naive little girl?" Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them naive.

Roland, how would you feel if, in the interests of 'defending the country against terrorism', the US government decided to take a bulldozer to your house? How would you feel if you were given a few minutes' warning to get out? What if you couldn't grab your money, your necessities or your prized and sentimental possessions? Worse still, what if you didn't have enough time to get to your sleeping child or your elderley parents?
THIS IS WHAT RACHEL CORRIE WAS TRYING TO PREVENT. And it's still happening. Frequently if any warning is given before the bulldozers roll up, it is in the form of gunfire into the side of the house. If you think it is okay to kill innocent people in the name of national security, then you are even more twisted than I previously thought. And to even suggest that Rachel could have been a Darwin Award candidate is sick.
If the house was used by smuggling bomb making materials via tunnels from Mexico? I would feel fine with it.
Especially if I was against violence.

i'm not worried about you trying to take me seriously.
i don't take you serious, not with your alleged rebuttal. i won't lose sleep if you don't take me serious. i know where i stand, and for the most part consider myself very abreast of the issues. this one is close to my heart. you didn't like my emotional response and that's fine but that's exactly what you got. if there is a hell, and if one holds to those sorts of "values" then yeah... i don't/can't take someone seriously who believes in such things. it's very hard for me. i felt you implied a few things. i know where you stand with sheehan among other things... so, help me take you seriously? i mean, you and roland seem to know quite about the military and such right? i'm not worried about how you feel about it, trust me... i've gotten over that a long time ago. henry, just keep writing like i don't care and i shall keep doing the same. that's the beauty of dissent and free speech. if we were all worried about that, our conversations would've ended a long time ago. that said, when you write things like that i cannot but help 1.) laugh out loud or 2.) almost spill soda on my keyboard. see?

ISM supports and is supported by terrorists. Rachel Corrie was part of ISM. Rachel Corrie is a dead terrorist.
Sorry.

Sorry? You should be. Save your apologies and crawl back under your rock.
