So one night in the car my girlfriend and I were talking about what a film dealing with our relationship would look like (if filmed in 20 years, as a retrospective). Like who would play us, who would direct, what kind of music would be in it. It was funny until she got alarmed because I said I wanted David Lynch to direct. But anyway, we picked out two actors for each other for the lead roles, then supporting actors for friends and family. Here's the results:
I picked Catherine Keener (for the later years) and Franka Potente (early years) to play my girlfriend.
She picked Woody Allen (later) and Andy Dick (early) to play me.
Now any combination of the above four entertainers seems so unbelievable and mismatched to me. But honestly, I thought her picks for me were great and she felt the same way about the choices I made for her part. So what does this mean?
I don't know, but I thought it was hilarious. And I still want Lynch to direct.
