Okay, I never thought I'd publically admit this, but "Sex and the City" is the shit. It's so clever and dirty and funny and features Kim Cattrall getting naked at least once an episode. And it's painfully true to life, like Sarah Jessica Parker chosing cigarettes over a hot guy, cohabitation issues, fashion delimnas, art critique, and bi/homosexuality. I can't get enough of it and I'm only through season 3 so far.
So on Friday night Emmanuel Mwangi came over. Don't know if any of you remember him, but he's the coolest Nigerian to come out of Biola. Actually, he's probably the ONLY Nigerian to come out of Biola. I think he and that one Asian dude were The Minority Group keeping Biola's accredidation intact. Anyway, we stayed up talking all night long until 7:30 a.m. What an open-minded, progressive, funny, and balanced guy. So my shout-out today goes to him (woot-woot!).
Posted by Phil at February 23, 2004 01:48 PM | TrackBackThe Ojeisekhobas (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) are Nigerian too, as well as Yemesi (don't know her last name). Pretty much all the Nigerians I've met are cool.
Posted by: jeri at February 24, 2004 07:56 AMThere was a Mwangi (not emmanuel) who was a major league asshole on bubbs.
Then again, *I* am a major league asshol eon bubbs....
Posted by: Roland at February 24, 2004 04:07 PMyeah, i was gonna say, weren't we ALL assholes on bubbs? That's what it is designed for, people to be assholes to each other then meet in real life and become great friends.
I think Emmanuel has a brother or two who went to Biola.

Posted by: dave at February 24, 2004 08:55 PMEvery Nigerian I have ever met has been a total asshole. Nigerian cab drivers would cut in front of you (other cab drivers) when you got out to use the john in the airport waiting lot. I have never seen anyone else do that, certainly no American blacks. Then they act as if they are so much more sophisicated than blacks here. I knew one who was a Deacon at my church, who confided that he didn't believe any of that sh*t (Christian), he was just using it to try and get job contacts!
However, every Ghanian I have met has been cool.
