Friday Random Ten

It's time once again for a look at the first ten tunes to pop up in Andrew's iTunes.

Wine and Depression - New Bomb Turks: Again, the Turks make an appearance. They and Project 86 are my Flaming Lips.
Walk Away - Nova Express: A punk band out of New York. This song is on a self-released 4 song EP. This is actually my favorite of the four.
Locked Groove - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts: I like Joan Jett but I don't really care for this album, entitled "Album." I like her in the Runaways more.
Speed Girl - Electric Frankenstein: These guys will probably show up on my playlist a lot due to the sheer volume of material they have released. I try to keep up, but I think I've already fallen two albums behind.
PS - Project 86: Ah, see, I told you. This is a fantastic song essentially about pornography. In this case, I think it worthwhile to post the lyrics.
It is a basis for your heartfelt hunger so gaze
At the page at the faces of nameless...
You're alone again
And this distortion is an apt replacement for
An unquenchable desire for more
More pages strewn across this sickening floor
I can't look at any of thisIf they saw what those eyes have seen
Oh how her heart it would bleed
If she only knew those abusive roots
And how the children would weep
If they only saw what those eyes have seen
It always keeps us longer than we wanted to stay
It always takes us further than we wanted to go
But you don't mind, no you don't mind at the
TimeBegging to be set free...from what we were meant to be
Innocence
It's inside you and your soul is longing, yearning
Pleading to be set free
Within your eyes, within my eyes, within our eyes
There could never be a more complete perversion of what we
were meant to be
And with all that is in me I hate this
As we're sinking inside this ever-feeding illnes
We are all quite silent
Sitting still
Safety First - The Frumpies: Practically a riot-grrrl supergroup. Members of Bikini Kill and Bratmobile combine efforts [as well as an appearance by Michelle Mae of the Make-Up (which also featured Jim Canty, the brother of Fugazi's Brendan Canty, and Ian Svenonious, both of whom along with Steve Gamboa were in Cupid Car Club and Nation of Ulysses), all of whom were on Dischord Records, run by Fugazi and Minor Threat vocalist Ian McKaye. Got all that?], although Michelle does not appear on this song.
Up Yer Heart - The Humpers: Fast and fun punk rock.
Hate Breeders - The Misfits: I have to get on my Misfits soapbox. The Misfits post-Glenn Danzig are not the Misfits. A Misfits cover group, maybe. A band with ex-members of the Misfits, maybe. The Misfits? definitely not. Hate Breeders, and all Misfits songs made while Glenn was in the band, is virtually a punk rock anthem. They are all classics.
Poinciana - Frank Sinatra: A little crooning mixed in never hurt anyone.
Curiosidad - Los Crudos: Hispanic hardcore from Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. One of my favorite hardcore bands ever. Live, vocalist Martin would spend more time explaining what his songs were about than it took to play them. Plus, they handed out lyric sheets at shows with English translations.
