Seriously, even cupcakes aren't helping this afternoon go by any more quickly. We're all falling asleep and feeling the monotony of full Fridays set in. Boooooo!

Yet another on the Big List of Movies I Should Have Seen A Long Time Ago, Time Bandits was my first experience in watching Netflix movies online. It was an awesome experience. Why can't I get it to work again?! I'm going to have to call tech support. Anyway, I'm sure Josh's mouth is gaping yet again at another movie he would have thought I'd be familiar with, but that's how it goes. I'm catching up little by little.
The movie's premise is that a group of dwarves who worked for the Supreme Being steal his map of time and go from time-period to time-period stealing treasure. They happen upon a boy's bedroom and take him along for the ride. We get to see Napoleon, Agamemnon, Robin Hood, and more. Lots of great actors abound, and there are plenty of amazing sets and costumes.
Being a 26-year-old movie, I'd say it holds up pretty well. It's a little bit dated, but still very creative. The ending was a little bit odd to me, since the boy didn't seem very phased by the surprising death of his parents, but since the sense of humor was very quirky all along, I don't have much of a problem with it.
It was nice to watch a highly praised Gilliam movie, since a lot of his newer stuff can be a bit iffy. From dwarves turned into pigs to ogres with back problems, this one was a lot of fun.
Summer movie season is coming to an end so it's that time again. I'll have to think about my vote. The winner of the how the world will end poll was "Naked mole rats rising up against their evil human zookeepers and overthowing all governments on the earth." Kudos to whoever added that one.
OMG

Whoever buys this for me gets a high five. Even the freaking headphones transform and it has an SD Card slot!
