Fake company names

I needed to come up with a list of fake company names for a demo site at work. I started making up company names, but then I realized that there are plenty of company names in popular works of fiction. I found a few lists online and compiled my favorites into this list of 123 fake company names. Feel free to use it if you need something similar. And if you're really bored, look through my list and see how many you can identify.

The Wards are Texans now

Brendomen and Brendowomen.

We don't post much here, but here's an update on us that blog on Ward Words. I finished grad school at the University of Colorado in May and now Kelly and I have made the move from Denver to Houston. I began my job on June 4th as an engineer with a company that does civilian space contract work. So far, I am getting a crash course in Linux (really Cygwin, but we use CentOS), C, some simulation software, and other awesomely nerdy stuff. Some here can appreciate the geeking out. Our blog has a bit more on our life in Houston. Don't click if you wish to continue not reading our blog!

Eric, update skwull more.

The eagle has landed...

Hello faithful blog readers! (By faithful I mean occasional, by blog reader I mean "Hi mom Ward. Hi mom Beck"). Kelly and I have been in Houston for two weeks now. It has been quite a climatic adjustment. We moved from the Mile High City to Space City. 5280 feet above sea level to 0. Under sea level should it rain too hard. It is also H-U-M-I-D, which only serves to intensify the heat. The dew point always hovers just a few degrees below the air temperature, so if you wear glasses and step out from an air conditioned car, you will be cleaning fog from your spectacles. One day last week it kind of drizzled while completely sunny. I am pretty sure that it wasn't really raining, but the air had only become so saturated with water that the air started condensing on itself. Sort of a moisture implosion. Enough about the weather.

Kelly and I are looking for a house (she does most of the looking while I'm at work). It has been only 9 days of looking, but feels like much more. On Monday we were scheduled to visit 6 houses. Three of them we were interested in making an offer on. But, all three sold that day. We are still looking for the perfect house. One of the Monday houses had stuffed deer heads and ducks on the wall, so naturally we thought it was perfect. Alas, so did someone else with a quicker trigger and a gun loaded with more greenbacks.

I started my job on Monday, June 4. It is going well, and I am getting very acquainted with Linux, C, and a modeling software package we use. It is a bit like my nerd aspirations coming to fruition.

PREEMPTIVE STRIKE ON RAMBLING!!! I'm stopping here. I'll leave by noting that the weatherman on the CW station here in town has the awesomest name EVER: Casanova Nurse. Eric will appreciate that.
