Show Movie Erika Weekend

Hi everyone! I think I'm back to regular posting starting today. I'm catching up with work and have plenty of things to blog about, including two Morrissey shows and several movies. This weekend was pretty full, I guess, now that I look back at it, although I do feel like I got to rest a lot.

Friday was the first short Friday. I relaxed at home while watching The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, which made me pretty sleepy, maybe since all of the characters were sleeping at one point or another. Then I went to a doctor appointment, finally dropped off my wedding dress to be put in a box for safe-keeping, dropped off several things to be tailored, picked up a prescription, got some cash, swung by Orange House to get some tofu sukiyaki for dinner, and headed to my parents' house to meet my sister, Brendan, and his friend Greg to drive to the Morrissey show. Rather, we drove to the LA Zoo park and ride area to take the shuttle there, which I highly recommend if you like going to the bowl. You have to set aside some time for it, but it saves money and hassle, since parking is so expensive at the Bowl. As Brendan said, coincidence would have it that even though he and I bought our tickets separately, we ended up sitting in the same section, just two rows apart! We had a great time at the show, except for listening to opening act, Kristeen Young. More on the show later.

Saturday morning, I slept in as always, and felt inspired when I woke up so rested. I went through our bedroom closet and filled five kitchen trash bags with clothes and shoes to give and throw away. I had to stop and take photos of some of the band t-shirts, since I was so attached to them. I think the worst thing to throw away was my Pee Wee's Big Adventure shirt, which had run its course and had frayed edges around the collar. I figure the shirt is original from the time the movie came out, so it was time to let it go. The rest of the afternoon I did a massive amount of laundry. I have no idea where we got so many towels, especially ones that don't match each other! I finally watched Say Anything while I was hanging out there - more on that later too! In the evening I went over to Ric's parents' house, where he was doing laundry. A little mistake of letting a pen make it through to the dryer damaged a few items of clothing for him. Oops. We topped the night off at the movies, where we saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. More later, but I'd say it's better than the second, but not as good as the first.

Sunday we went to church. No Andersons. Booo! We went home and had lunch, then I skipped off to the theater again to see Waitress, which I liked a lot (you guessed it: more on that later). I came home to an empty house since Ric was finishing up laundry, so I finished watching The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, which made me sleepy yet again, so I took a good nap. In the evening, I set out to Gaetano's to meet up with Erika and her husband Justin, who were visiting for the weekend. It was almost surreal to have her here, but it was so nice to see her face and not just communicate on email or the phone. We had a great meal and stopped by the gig going on in the banquet room next door. I finished off the night watching more Lost with Ric.

Coming up this week: More packing, Day Watch, hanging with the Neals, and probably a bunch of other stuff!
