What's he building in there?

Lately my posts have centered around something I've seen or something we've done, which is one of the reasons we keep a blog. We know our readers need to know everything about us. And we're not saying that because the majority of our 7 readers are our parents, either. Nevertheless, I hear more and more about the public wanting to know, "What is Lucas thinking about?" So, here are some thoughts that I've had recently.

  1. I'm not particularly worried about growing old. But I am worried about having jowls, and if that's a part of growing old for me, I suppose I might be a little more sad every December 20.
  2. I love getting a new toothbrush. I call it "New Toothbrush Day" (not to be confused with a similar source of excitement, "New Contacts Day"). Generally, I wait until the bristles start falling out of the toothbrush head before getting a new one, which makes the new toothbrush feel amazing. That is, until recently. I thought I might try a "medium" bristled brush, figuring my gums could appreciate a little more intensive massage. I was wrong, and I think that the next level up in toothbrush stiffness must be like rubbing a barbeque grill brush around in your mouth.
  3. Two nights ago I had a dream where my heart fell out. Just fell out of me, leaving behind a filet shaped hole in my body. I picked my heart up off of the ground and stuck it back in, but I had nothing to hold it in place, save my shirt. Weird huh?

And that's a wrap. If you want to interpret my dream, feel free, but don't judge me by my dreams (unless it makes me super cool in your book).

It's All Happening

How many times have I told that to myself? I think I lost track. Comment and trackback spam is bothering almost as much as the damn gas prices, which have derailed my trip down to San Diego this weekend. The other thing that has derailed my trip to San Diego this weekend is that I had my lead interview yesterday and if I get hired my training will start on Sunday. Holy crap, indeed. Our new contract that totally screwed us over went through. The only good thing that happened was we got a 40 cent raise that went into effect this week. Once I get lead I will be making another $1.25 more. It would have been a lot more of a raise but that was something that got nixed under our wonderful new contract. That's all I have to report. The only thing I do now when I'm on the computer is either watch Veronica Mars and The Sopranos or play WoW. So I apologize for the lack of posts here. If you are really bummed about it, feel free to post yourself or let me know if you want to post.

Situation

So yesterday at work I had an iteresting situation. I was pulling an order to be shipped to a customer, and I noticed that one of the parts that I had to pull was in an odd location, one that only contained parts of another product line. I thought this to be odd, so I asked my lead about it and he said that it was in a different spot. This spot being a box, that what seemed like millions of parts that we are planning on scapping soon, soon being sometime in the future that no one really knows, but they say soon to make everyone happy. Anyways I start digging through this box, and I am amazed by the number of parts this box contains. There are millions of hoses and washers and other miscellaneous parts. So I look through it forever and it seems like I am never going to find this part, digging and digging. Of course you wonder why I don't just tell someone that I am not going to find it, well the reason being it is supposed to be sent UPS Red, which means overnight to those of you who aren't in shipping. Well I do get to the point where I feel like giving up, about a half hour later. I just want to quit, but what does my eye see, but something that looks like the part that I am looking for, and it is. After a half hour of searching through a mess of parts, I finally find it. The order ships and everyone is happy.

So, the question I am asking is, am I unfortunate for having to dig through a box of crazy parts or am I fortunate because I was able to find the part?
