I once told Jared that if I were rich, I would clone dinosaurs and then build robot dinosaurs and force them to fight for my own entertainment. I think that is where this comes from.
What follows is a real and true dream I had the night of January 23/24, 2006.
There was an island with real dinosaurs: triceratops, sauropods, tyrannosaurus rex, the whole gamut (and there were even a few regular old elephants. The dinos were more or less lined up across a field that bordered a forest. Facing the real dinosaurs was an army of robot dinosaurs, but not any robot dinosaurs - alien robot dinosaurs. The alien robot dinosaurs thought that the real dinosaurs were intelligent and kept telling them that there was going to be a war between the two factions. The real elephant just kept making elephant noises, and that made the alien robot dinosaurs mad. Soon a big battle broke out. This is where I appeared in the dream. After the battle began, myself and a bunch of other humans (who had been living peacefully with the real dinosaurs) came upon the scene. Then, past the battle line came regular humanoid aliens, who were apparently on the alien robot dinosaurs' side. Maybe the humanoid aliens built them, I don't know. Anyway, I sliced a few of them up with a flimsy sword that I had nicked from an alien. Sometime later, the the two sides called it quits for the evening. At this time we retired to a house in the forest, on the alien robot dinosaur side of the island. For some reason, this house had two atomic bombs. One was disguised as a fiber optic wall hanging piece of art. Dave Mason armed the bomb and set it to go off in the night. Meanwhile, I am talking with a few people on a balcony and we begin to suspect that the wife who lives in the house is on the alien robot dinosaur side.
It was around this time that I woke up. Did the bomb go off and save the world from conquest by alien robot dinosaurs? Were the real dinosaurs (and elephants) able to avoid radioactive fallout? Will the alien robot dinosaurs and their humanoid alien masters strike again? We may never find out. I do know, however, that that was the best dream had by anyone...ever.

Great little movie. The story revolves around an art dealer coming home to meet her new husband's family for the first time. Her visit includes trying to woo a local artist into showing at her gallery as well as trying to get comfortable with her new family.
The star of the show, about whom everyone is talking about these days (and rightfully so) is Amy Adams, who plays the sister-in-law. She's pregnant and married to a very rude and unattentive husband, and while he struggles to get his GED, she's blissfully bubbling about her pregnancy, her baby, and her husband, and hoping for a bright future--a great front for all of the doubts and lonliness she's having. Adams is wonderful.
Pretty much all of the family members have their quirks, but all are realistic and intriguing to watch. The film is simple and feels legitimate, is filled with odd laughs, and is one of the better written movies of last year. The artist portions may throw off some, but I really enjoyed this one.
Monday I criticized the Democratic Party for having no plan or voice in American politics.
Today I read this article at The Onion: "Democrats Vow Not To Give Up Hopelessness." I love this line:
According to Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Democrats are not willing to sacrifice their core values—indecision, incoherence, and disorganization—for the sake of short-term electoral gain.
Nintendo.com News : Players Can Battle Wirelessly and Talk Smack with Metroid Prime Hunters
I am so stoked on Metroid Prime Hunters. The online play is going to be fantastic and the regular single player stuff sounds great too. I love Metroid Prime on the Gamecube so I'm really looking forward to the DS version. It's also going to be great to play with friends on DS to DS play. There's even download play for people who don't have the game. And then there's the biggie that also comes out on the same day (March 21st), Tetris DS. This isn't your daddy's Tetris. There are 6 modes of play, all of which are themed around classic NES games. There is a new mode that only uses the touch screen. Oh, and there is 4 player online play as well as 10 (!) player DS to DS download play. So you can play with 9 other people on one cartridge. Totally sweet.
Last night a bunch of us went to the last show of Ann Lynn's residency at the Detroit Bar. I would say it was their best show of the series. They had a great crowd, a good mix of songs, and played some cool covers. I'm really excited for the guys about the direction they're headed. We're currently talking about doing a music video for "The Scene", so that should be really cool. So stay tuned and if you want you can preview the tracks on the EP at CD Baby.
