Washington Post Confirms Felt Was 'Deep Throat'
The Washington Post today confirmed that W. Mark Felt, a former number-two official at the FBI, was "Deep Throat," the secretive source who provided information that helped unravel the Watergate scandal in the early 1970s and contributed to the resignation of president Richard M. Nixon.

Yes, it's that time of year again.
I couldn't post on Friday, so I'll give you the quote of that day today, said from a student who just got a UW for the most important class of the program, "So are you saying I'm not going to be able to walk?"
Well, after a 2 hour adult programs lunch in the blistering sun (I now have a nice farmer's tan and bright pink cheeks) with our graduating campus safety officer Peters, graduation finally came, and we had the pleasure of sitting with Mr. and Mrs. Mann. No one could hear poor Ogilvie because everyone was talking, so I read my newly-purchased-from-Agadoni hardback, illustrated "Chronicles of Narnia" until it was time to cheer the two people I was there to see.
Since I was once a secretary, when the department I "secretaried" for had its procession, I had a comment to make about each student, whether they were nice, turned in everything late, were snobbish, were pregnant, or had difficult-to-deal-with spouses. It kept me amused while I waited for my friends to graduate. As soon as their names were called, Ric and I hightailed it out of there to avoid traffic, and went to Bobby McGees for Cyndi's fabulous party feast.
The woman decorates her own graduation party! Well, we ate until we were ready to pop, and the cake and ice cream tasted like someone had managed to inject sugar into sugar, which left us practically dizzy with a high. We got to catch up a bit with the Askews and the Hutchinseses, which was cool. I hadn't seen many of them in a looooong time, so it was great to see everyone.
Saturday we didn't do much since Ric had a stiff back from his car having been rear-ended that afternoon. It was sad to see our roles reversed, with him barely able to move while I comforted him. I also watched Something Wicked This Way Comes, which I will post about later for you, Jonathan. Don't buy it.
Sunday after church, I went to see Layer Cake (review tomorrow) and that night we went out to Heroes in Fullerton for the first time in ages and got giant drinks, then walked it off in downtown until we were able to drive home. It's been so long since we've done something like that. Very fun.
Monday my goal was to read 250 pages of my Jordan book, Fires of Heaven. I'm not sure if the titles of these books actually relate to much of the plot. Just nice generic names that sound cool. I only got about 170 read, since Ric's parents were feeding us for the holiday, so we ate dinner by the pool and enjoyed their company. That was worth the break. I managed to squeeze 20 pages this morning and 20 pages at lunch. I've got about 45 until I'm done, which I'll be glad for since it's been with me for at least a month (about a thousand pages) and I need to finish so I can read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. After that, I'll go back to the Wheel of Time series until at least October, when I'll pick up Narnia again. Lately my life is a series of changing books according to what movies are coming out. I practically have a syllabus!
All in all, a weekend that had equal parts fun and relaxation. Exactly what I needed.
This week I only have to work 3 days; we had Monday off, and short Fridays start this week, with Friday being an all staff training 1/2-day that requires no work. It will be interesting to see how the university goes about giving a seminar on sexual harassment, especially since I tend to think a certain someone who will probably be leading some of the seminar displays sexism in his emails (he sends emails with half the email addressed to men and half to women, making jokes accordingly).
I have two interviews this week. Tomorrow I am interviewing at a placement agency in Orange. Hopefully I will get something so I can get a place up there and start saving up for a car and stuff while I look for a permanent job. Friday I'm interviewing at a small church in Cypress. It sounds pretty promising but I'm not getting my hopes up, especially after what happened last week.
In other news, I'm really digging my new compy. It plays Half-Life 2 insanely well even in 1024x768 resolution. Everything is fast. I'm definitely an AMD man now.
So it looks like I'll have a pretty busy week. I'll be up in O.C. tomorrow and Friday so if anyone wants to grab a meal or just hang out, let me know.
This is the "major" update to the game that Softnyx has been promising. I played the Korean version briefly, not enough to really see the changes, except for the new bots. Anyway, there's a system in place where you don't actually buy avatars, but rather you rent them. Stupid. There's other changes (you get kicked from a room after 20 seconds if you don't click "Ready!", high angling = more damage, and others).
If you're interested in downloading it, wait. Everyone and their mother is getting it now (today is the first day it's available). The mirrors are all down, and on the off chance that the main site has it, you'll likely be downloading it slowly. Very slowly.
Once I get it and play it for a while, I'll report on whether or not it's worth it.
And I can barely remember the trip home. All I really know is that my truck killed eleventy billion bugs and my belief that all birds are suicidal, is strengthend.
Currently I am looking for a job. I need to get one, so I can move out of the house and live on my own. I need one that will give me 40 hours a week, and will pay me about $8 an hour starting. I think that is what I will need in order to support me.
So really I need to find a job quick, and make it a good one.
Anyways, my little sister is really mean, and I need to find a way to make her stop being mean, cause I have been home very little and I am tired of it.

Real life liger - I don't think he has magical powers, but this cross between a lion and a tiger is huge. From the article: "He is three years old, stands 10 feet tall on his hind legs, and weighs about 1,000 lbs. (At maturity he is expected to reach 12 feet in length and weight about 1,250 lbs.)"
This is pretty much my favorite animal.
