So Luis posted something and his title had a heart in it. A real one. Not a <3 or something like that. I searched around and found this list of character entities. ♣ ♤
To display the charachter, just type "&" followed by "#" and then the number of the character. I kind of knew you could do this before, but I never really looked into it. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

I did finally make up my mind and end my search for a computer. I settled on an iMac G5. I bought it Friday night at the Apple Store in Kansas City. It just happened to be the release party for Tiger, the new version of the Mac OS, so the place was packed and they were giving scratch tickets at the door. A few people won an iPod or a laptop, but everyone else got 10% their purchase that night. That worked out very nicely for me. Here are some of the specs from my computer, if you're interested:
Monitor: 17" widescreen LCD
Processor: 1.8 GHz G5 600 MHz FSB, 512k L2 cache
Memory: 256 MB PC3200 DDR (soon to be upgraded to 1.25 GB)
Hard drive: 80 GB SATA (7200)
Video: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 64 MB of DDR SDRAM (AGP 8X)
Optical: 4X/8X/16X/8X/24X slot-loading Superdrive
There are more pictures in the gallery. So far I really like it. The Mac OS is very nice. I'm working on a new video of Emma, using the built-in iMovie, and I should be posting it online soon.
This website, along with all of brendoman.com and a great deal of our webhost, Vizaweb, has been down for about four days. There was a spam attack that caused our site to overload a server, so we got suspended. It took Vizaweb four days to get back to me and reenable our site. But we're working on protecting the site from spam attacks so this won't happen again.
Well, that downtime really sucked. I got back from L.A. last night. It was great being down there. I got to see Joy Electric twice. I also saw Starflyer 59 and Mister Naked Happy. We saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Saturday night. I really enjoyed it.
I've been thinking about the vow I made to Danny during the Oscars last year that I wouldn't pay money to see Sith, but in my defense that was way before a trailer was out or Kevin Smith's beaming reviews. I mean, based on Episodes I and II, can you really blame me for making such a rash vow? How about a compromise? I won't go see it on opening night. Heck, I won't go see it opening weekend. There you go.
I still need a job really bad. I'm moving out of here on Wednesday and am going to be staying at my friend Mike's in Temecula until the first week of June. I'll be working my butt off trying to find a job. But I'm pretty happy about no more Fresno.
That's my week in a nutshell. Hope everyone else found other things to do during our downtime.
I enabled mt.cgi, so you can post to your blog if you want. I may have to turn it back off, but I hope not. Turns out our antispam plugin, MT-Blacklist, got turned off on April 11, so we've been getting hit with spam since then, I guess. Things seem to be running a little faster than before. Let me know what problems you're still having and I'll see what we can do about it.
Lucas and I attended the Faint/Bright Eyes concert this past Thursday. It was here in KC at the Uptown Theater. Before giving my opinion of the show, I have to share an event for me that happened at the concert: I was offered drugs for the first time in my life. Lucas and I watched as the row in front of us passed a joint down. When it reached the girl in front of me, she turned around and offered it to me. Being the D.A.R.E. graduate that I am, I firmly said "No!" Lucas was so proud. The Faint portion of the concert was amazing. I have only heard one of their CDs (Wet From Birth), and prior to the show, wasn't that big of a fan. Seeing them live, though, changed my opinion of them. They put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. They looked like they were having fun up there. Also, the movie images they had playing in the background on the stage were incredible. I have no idea how they timed them so perfectly with the music. Some of the clips were news anchors whose mouths had been edited to sing the words of the songs, and they went perfectly with the lyrics they were singing live. Amazing.Bright Eyes was a distant second in terms of performance. Nearly all the songs were from his Digital Ash album. This is the second time we have seen Bright Eyes. The first time, he was so drunk he had trouble remembering the words to songs. This time, he looked really nervous on stage and almost never looked up. The Faint made up his band, and he had 2 drummers, which was great. It was still a good show, but not a great show. Overall, the Faint gets 5 stars, Bright Eyes 3 stars.~Kelly
It took them four days, but Vizaweb finally unsuspended our site. They said that mt.cgi, the script that runs Movable Type, was being abused. Thanks, spammers. You won't be able to post to your MT blog for a bit until we find out what was going on. But the main blog works fine.
