I guess I'm getting a little more serious about this now. Brendon, having made this switch recently, has some ideas for me. I'm thinking that my money might be better spent at a Mac store for a new Mac than on eBay for last year's model. A new Mac would get me more power, a better warranty, more choice in what I get, and the newest version of OS X. Now I've narrowed it down to three Macs:
I'm still open to ideas, especially from anyone who has made the switch or is familiar with Macs.
I posted about him on my blog back in January (SHAZAM), and it was brought to my attention that his new album, Illinois, which is supposed to be released July 5, was leaked to the internet. I went on a mad dash looking for a place to download it... DC++, sites, BitTorrent and I finally found a torrent for it.
The verdict?
Brilliant. I've stopped doing my very important schoolwork (400 pages of reading + notes, due tomorrow... LOL) so I can absorb this beautiful album. I don't think this man can possibly let me down.
If you want to listen to it... You can email me at negligent[at]gmail[dot]com. >_>
I think I've mentioned Stock Exchange before as a good source of stock photos. Morgue File is another good one. Both are free for non-commercial and commercial use.

"Sometimes psychotic rage is viewed as a major character flaw. In other instances, it's considered an indispensable attribute. We're not exactly sure how it works, but if you want to fall in the latter category, try these two tips. First, jam a chinchilla up your nose until only the tail shows. Second, be Republican." — GREG BEATO

Sometimes one will work for me and sometimes the other will. Hopefully we'll be back to normal soon as we've switched servers. I'm not completely sure what that means, but that's what Lars said. I also haven't been able to post anything for a while because I haven't been able to get in, but hopefully that's been corrected now too. Unfortunately, I don't have time to write much now but I did want to give you the link to last week's podcast. I hope to be back in action soon.

What's So Amazing About Grace? by Philip Yancey
Pretty good so far. Mostly a series of stories that show examples of grace and ungrace, but the stories are good and he has a really refreshing take on God's grace.

There is no need to remake a Hitchcock movie. EVER. I swear, if he had a grave, he'd be rolling in it. The best picture I could find was his wax figure floating down the Thames.
Michael Bay is remaking "The Birds" and Warner Bros is remaking "Strangers on a Train".... WHY????
It's not like Gus Van Sant's Psycho could have encouraged filmmakers to think they could
So I'm here visiting. I didn't have internet for awhile but I'm at my friend's office and they have WiFi. I have a job possibility here so hopefully that will happen. My friend Janelle works at Disneyland so I went with Phil yesterday. The new ride, Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, is fantastic. You shoot targets and it keeps score and then at the end of the ride you can e-mail your picture to yourself or friends. Phil totally kicked my butt, but it was tons of fun. Things are going great here and I seriously think this is where I'll end up. Hope things are going well on your guys' end.

Well, the prodigal son came home for a while, but has gone out to feed with the swine again. That's right. Anthony.
I had just gotten to the point where I could hang out with him again, after he had missed our wedding due to getting high and had a good scare with the law that shook him up into going straight.
It took me a while to let him back in. At first I'd let Ric hang out with him and I'd do something else. Little by little I got comfortable with him and was even starting to hang out every once in a while. And now this. At least this time around I don't feel too hurt because we didn't have enough time to get really close before he slipped. But my main thing is wondering how to treat him. We told him we couldn't watch him destroy himself anymore when he first started coming around again. But obviously a listening ear, encouragement, and advice doesn't work when someone is addicted.
He says he's trying to get back off again. I think the only thing that could help would be a professional program, which I don't think he has done so far. Any advice, Kristen?
We had the pleasure of going out with recently returned Colin and his fiancee on Saturday. I can't believe the last time we saw him was last October! We went to Chomp in Fullerton. What a meat market for 30-somethings! The place was packed and loud. But we had a great time.
Colin had a million pictures and stories, and after dinner he even brought a memory stick full of movies over to our place. It was good to see him safe, sound, and sane, and great to see the couple reunited. :)
We got to learn all sorts of stuff about Iraq that doesn't get covered in the news. We also got to learn all about the medical aspect of things (i.e. gross stuff), since Colin got to deal with a lot of that stuff. I'm proud of his work and dedication.
We're definitely looking forward to the wedding this July!
