MT-Blacklist/Comment Spam Clearinghouse: The Collective Deep Breath
Jay Allen, creator of MT-Blacklist, the wonderful plugin that has kept brendoman.com relatively comment spam free, writes about the new developer version of Movable Type 3.0 that I wrote about yesterday. A lot of people are extremely upset over the fact that MT is starting to charge for their software (which in my opinion is the best weblogging software on the market) and many have already ditched MT for other software. Jay has some great insights and really clears some things up about the current situation. He also clarifies that this is not the public release of MT 3.0.
Anyway, I would just like to re-iterate that I am a proud supporter of Movable Type and I don't plan on switching anytime soon. Like I said earlier, that would be too much of a hassle anyway. For right now, MT 2.661 is working fine. I am excited for the upgrade to MT 3.0, if and when that will be able to happen.
InfoWorld: Update: Yahoo takes on Google with extra mail storage: May 14, 2004: By : APPLICATIONS
Not to be outdone by Google Inc.'s recent bold e-mail offering, Yahoo Inc. said that it plans to dramatically raise the storage limit given to its free e-mail users while at the same time bumping its premium subscribers up to a "virtually unlimited" capacity.
The free account is being boosted to 100MB. That's quite a bit, but still one tenth of what Gmail is going to be offering. If anyone wants to hook me up with a Gmail account, I really want to try it out.
Brendoman's Random Bits of Stuff
I got bored, so I made a blog with the new and improved Blogger. I really like the new templates and the look and feel of it is just grand. I'd never go back to using it as my primary blog publishing system though.
Anyway, I don't know what my deal is this week. People have just been rubbing me the wrong way or something. I'm sorry if I've been a jerk to you and you didn't deserve it.
