Well, it looks like I am going to get my internet connection disconnected here at school for playin Halo on the network. Oh well. It is just another way microsoft is screwing me over.

So, my review of this movie is most likely tainted by the fact that some junior highers had a noisemaker that repeatedly sounded through the entirety of this movie. Over the years, I have slowly grown more bold about letting people know that they're ruining my movie. This time was absolutely too much, and I joined Ric in scolding the little brats after the movie. I know it won't make much of a difference, but the reason those kids act the way they do is because nobody has ever held them accountable for their actions, so I just wanted them to KNOW that they ruined everything for everyone in the theatre, and that they were completely disrespectful.

Anyway, the movie was good, until the end. I really like Johnny Depp as an actor. He really did carry the movie, as most of it was just him wandering around, feeling scared/paranoid. He did really well, and the story was interesting.. but the ending wasn't enough for me. But who knows? I was so pissed off by the time we reached the end that I may just dislike it because of some idiot pre-teens!

On Sunday I was responsible for a communion meditation at church. I decided to use a passage from The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis. The book was written in the 15th century and it's in the public domain now, so you can read the entire thing online. I made took one of the chapters about communion, trimmed it down, changed some wording and added a response part. Here it is.

TRUSTING in Your goodness and great mercy, O Lord, I come as one sick to the Healer, as one hungry and thirsty to the Fountain of life, as one in need to the King of heaven, a servant to his Lord, a creature to his Creator, a soul in desolation to my gentle Comforter.

Who am I that You should offer Yourself to me? How dares the sinner to appear in Your presence, and You, how do You condescend to come to the sinner? You know Your servant, and You know that he has nothing good in him that You should grant him this.

I made it back in one piece. I'm still working on my rundown of Coachella. It was a good time though. Crazy, but fun.
