Two Projects

Well I have two projects left to do. I am working on one right now, and then I will start the other one later. I should be getting A's on both of them. I think that I am having one of the best semesters of school in my life. I hope that that is true when grades come out.

Anyways, if you read brendoman.com, who hosts me, you read a lot of political stuff. Especially between Gingo and Honzo. I think it is interesting what they have to write. I tend to lean more conservative, but I don't want to completely flaw anyone because they are liberal. I hate hearing people say that we should kick all of the liberals out of the country and then turn around and deposit their student loan checks, or social security checks, or things like that. I just think in my head, wow, you don't understand. Then again I hate hearing liberals talk about how the economy is so horrible. Well, economy cycles. I think it will be on an up swing soon. I also want to say that Clinton used Reganomics. So just be patient with the economy. Also, I have no problem with a gap between the rich and the poor. It is a product of capitalism. It is not sinful to be poor. I like capitalism because it allows for the poor person to become rich and the rich person to become poor. I hate socialism because it causes a lack of motivation, why work hard to become a doctor, when you can make the same amount by flipping burgers at McDonalds? That is just my thoughts.

Big media's days are numbered

On the drive to Sara's parents' house we were listening to a tape (yes, a tape) and “Video Killed the Radio Star” came on. During the verse that says “Now we meet in an abandoned studio” a thought occurred to me: Big media's days are numbered. Allow me to explain.

Brother-in-law home from Iraq

We're in Clever, MO, visiting Sara's family. Her brother Lucas is on leave from the Navy. He just returned from Iraq. He brought home two chunks of the big bronze statue of Saddam. Yes, the one you saw on the news. I was holding them and a few things occurred to me: 1) This is a little piece of history, 2) It's really heavy, no wonder it took them so long to knock the statue over and 3) How many people starved so they could make this statue? Anyway, it's been great having Lucas home again. No matter what you think about the war, you just have to be proud of guys like this.

I'm writing this post on Sara's parents' new computer. It has a beautiful 17'' LCD. I'm taking their old computer home so I can throw it into my Linux mess. I might frankenstien it or just try for a dual-boot system. If nothing else I'll wipe the hard drive and stick it into my current Linbox. (If you're interested, here are the specs of the old one: 366 Mhz Celeron processor, 32 MB RAM, 4 G hard drive and a 14” CRT monitor.)
